Mysterious giant fungus found in China may be the beginning of the end

China is a large country, with plenty of room to contain a science-fiction-sized fungus that was found in Yunnan province — for now. The monstrous mushroom cluster, weighing 33 pounds and with a three-feet diameter, was stumbled upon not by experts, but by \"villagers.\"

Consequently, no one knows what sort of fungus it is, whether it would kill you if you ate it, or whether it would kill you by strangulation when the moon is a certain phase. Until we know for sure, we're just going to quietly drop Yunnan province from our vacation plans and hope everything works out.
