MARIETTA, GA - Police in Cobb County arrested a man on the scene of a fatal shooting in the Mulberry Farms neighborhood in Marietta Sunday afteoon.

Police said they initially responded to a home due to a fatal shooting around noon on Dec. 18, and located the suspect at the town home just off Johnson Ferry Rd. in east Cobb County.

When they arrived, the suspect barricaded himself inside a home, police said. That prompted a SWAT response as police tried to take the suspect into custody peacefully.

The suspect has been identified as 31-year-old Justin Hess.

According to authorities, Hess is responsible for another homicide in Sandy Springs. Officers located an unconscious male in the 6700 block of Roswell Road, Saturday night. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
