But one of the strangest moments on Sunday night's show appeared to be entirely unscripted as a young actress attempted to grab Will Ferrell's trophy as he accepted the Comedic Genius Award.
Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza was later asked to leave the ceremony after her bizarre behaviour on live TV.
