Mother didn’t want to smash car window to save child ‘because it is expensive’

A mother is facing public sco after allegedly refusing to let fire fighters smash a window of her expensive car to save her son who was trapped inside.

The woman told authorities her flashy BMW had locked itself with the keys and her child still inside.

Onlookers stood and watched as the young boy could reportedly be heard crying inside the locked vehicle as temperatures hit 32C outside.

However when fire fighters in Yiwu city, China, went to free him they were allegedly met with objection from the woman.

She reportedly told them she would prefer to wait for a locksmith who would not damage her car.

Local reports said the fire service decided to take action when the young boy fainted in the car, forcing them to smash one of the windows and rescue him.

One of the fire fighters said: ‘It"s very dangerous to leave children inside cars, especially in such heat. It can threaten a child"s life in a very short time."

People across China have since condemned the mother"s actions on social media, accusing her of caring more for her car than her child.
