Mark Zuckerberg the victim of his own password in this hack attack
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is the newest addition to a list of high-profile hack attack victims, and reportedly has himself to blame.
Hacking group OurMine Team took control of his Twitter and Pinterest accounts over the weekend, adding insult to injury when they used his twitter account to announce they gained access to his accounts because they found his embarrassingly simple password 'dadada” in the details of stolen LinkedIn accounts that were leaked online last month. The tweet has been deleted and OurMine's Twitter account has been suspended.
If the hackers are telling the truth, then Zuckerberg has broken several fundamental basic security rules to stop hackers from carrying out their dirty deeds.
As Microsoft says in its tips to creating a strong password, a good password should be at least eight characters long and should be a combination of upper and lower case letters and numbers. Zuckerberg appears to have broken the cardinal rule of password use; never use a password more than once.
At least he's still a cut above the poor, unfortunate network engineer who designed the recently released 'Best Korean Social Network”
A Scottish student announced last week that he hacked into the North Korean version of Facebook using the password 'password”.
