BROOKHAVEN, Ga. — A 36-year-old man is facing multiple charges after police say he pointed a gun at people inside a Brookhaven restaurant because his food order was taking too long.

According to Brookhaven police, officers arrested Maze Coburn on Tuesday. He is charged with several counts of aggravated assault and child cruelty.

Investigators say Coburn, who works as a food delivery driver, became upset over a delay with an order at Ameer’s Mediterranean Grill over the weekend. Police said he caused a disturbance inside the restaurant before leaving.

Authorities say Coburn later returned with a handgun equipped with a green laser and pointed it toward the front window of the business, where families were seated. He then drove away in a silver Ford Mustang, police said.

“Pointing a firearm at a business where families are present is reckless and unacceptable,” said Brookhaven Police Chief Brandon Gurley. “We will continue to act swiftly to protect our community and hold offenders accountable.”

Officers later located Coburn near Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Interstate 285, where he was taken into custody.

He is currently being held in the DeKalb County Jail.
