Lynne Kathleen Cahill-Gomez Pulled Over Three Times ... in One Hour
A Califoia woman was arrested Saturday after police caught her speeding three times in one hour with two of the three times clocked exceeding 100 MPH.
Lynne kathleen Cahill-Gomez, 53, initially struggled with officers in Yuba County who said they had to use a 'minor control hold' as she told they she was in a hurry to help her elderly mother who had fallen.
'I've never driven 100 MPH so I didn't know my car could even go 100 MPH,' she told CBS 5. 'But I wasn't worried about that, I was worried about my mom.'
Officers with the Califoia Highway Patrol said she was initially stopped on highway 70 in Yuba County traveling at 103 MPH around 8:10pm.
Twenty minutes later, she was pulled over again clocking 105 MPH.
In her third stop about 40 minutes later, while traveling slightly less at 76 MPH in a zone of 55, police arrested her for reckless driving.
Struggling, Cahill-Gomez told officers of her 79-year-old mother who had a bad knee and had fallen at her home in Butte County.
The hurry: Cahill-Gomez, arrested on her birthday, told officers that she was rushing to help her elderly mother who had fallen on her bad knee
To possibly make matters worse for Cahill-Gomez, it was her birthday as well.
She was booked on reckless driving into the Yuba County Jail with bail set at $1,000 but was released the same night without posting bond.
Cahill-Gomez is expected to appear in the Yuba County Superior Court for her arraignment on April 19.
