Lupe Fiasco locks Twitter account after fan abuse over Trayvon Martin views
RAPPER Lupe Fiasco has locked his Twitter profile in the wake of personal abuse resulting from the George Zimmerman trial.
This moing Fiasco, who topped the charts alongside Guy Sebastian with Battle Scars, explained his decision to his remaining 1.4 million followers.
Fiasco said the breaking point came after he posted his opinion on the murder of Trayvon Martin on Twitter.
"A guy said he hated my mom 4 having me for my TM case views," Fiasco said.
The rapper said he would not accept any new followers and would begin "thinning" those he already had.
"People take too many shots," he wrote.
"Washing my hands of it".
When an Australian fan asked if he was going to retu Down Under, Fiasco wrote "I really wanna move there . . . I love it there. People, food . . . it's nice. America can be so wack."
He also hinted at a new way of delivering his music, stating "To keep it real I don't like making music for Atlantic records. Some of the execs up there are pretty uncool to work for."
Fiasco said he intended to cull his followers to 800,000 and is the latest celebrity to react to bullying and abuse on Twitter.
