Louisiana High school English teacher Camille Brennan arrested after passing out marijuana brownies to her students

A Louisiana high school English teacher was arrested after giving two students brownies laced with marijuana.

Camille Brennan, 29, of New Orleans, tued herself in to St Tammany Parish authorities after they put out a warrant for her arrest on charges of distribution of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Brennan had resigned her teaching post at the Archbishop Hannan High School, which costs more than $9,000 a year to attend, as she was investigated for the incident involving two young women pupils.

A parent of one of the girls contacted the principal of the Catholic school, Father Charles Latour, who then told police about the incident.

The pastor said he was 'not at liberty to talk about' the incident, which occurred on May 1, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

He told parents at the school to tell their children about the teacher's behavior 'as you see fit'.

Brennan allegedly admitted to distributing the edible marijuana,

Brennan resigned her position at the school, which costs more than $9,000 per year in tuition and fees, while she was under investigation

Her lawyer said 'At this time, my client has simply requested that we fully cooperate with our judicial system in every capacity', according to WWLTV.

He said that he had received no evidence of a crime. 

A spokesman for the sheriff's office said tat more charges against Brennan could follow.
