Lost SpongeBob SquarePants toy is found in toddler’s stomach on X-ray

A doctor who thought a child had swallowed a pin was startled when she looked at another X-ray and saw the trademark cheeky grin of underwater cartoon star SpongeBob SquarePants.

Dr Ghofran Ageely of King Abdulaziz University Hospital, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, said that the grinning aquatic creature was actually a pendant owned by the toddler"s sister.

‘When you look at the lateral view first, you see a thin long foreign body which look like a pin. On the frontal view, here he is!" Dr Ageely said.

‘”SpongeBob!” I screamed. I was amazed by the visible details. You can see his freckles, shoes and fingers…" she told LiveScience in an email.

The pendant was freed by doctors and the toddler went home safely.
