Lindsay Lohan ruins borrowed $1,750 designer gown
Lindsay Lohan has been accused of ruining the $1,750 designer dress she borrowed for a glitzy New York gala earlier this month.
The 26-year-old Liz & Dick star wore a floor-length gold and silver beaded gown by Theia Coture to an amfAR fundraiser on February 6.
But a photo of the gown obtained by US Weekly appears to show the same gown cut into a mini dress before its retu to the designer.
A representative for Theia said the designer has yet to receive the gown, two weeks after the event.
'The dress was loaned in good faith to Phillip Bloch, Lindsay Lohan’s stylist. We were informed by Mr. Bloch’s assistant that the dress was damaged during the course of the evening,' the spokesman said.
'The dress has not been retued, and it wasn’t until we saw the photos on in the media, that we became aware of the actual condition of the gown.'
'Further action has yet to be determined,' according to their statement.

High price of fashion: The gown is estimated to be worth $1,750
A spokesman for celebrity stylist Phillip Bloch confirmed to MailOnline their office dressed the actress for the gala. They declined to comment further.
US Weekly reports Lohan had ripped the gown partying at a nightclub after the AIDS fundraiser.
Improvising, she is said to have tued to a 'stylist friend' who helped her find a temporary fix.
'She couldn't possibly wear it like that - so her stylist friend went to the club bouncer and requested some scissors to repair the to part of the dress,' the insider said.
'She tued it into a mullet! Only a fashiony person would do that!' the source added.
Before the 'rip': The 26-year-old actress is accused of sending the dress back in tatters after a friend cut it into a 'mullet' mini-dress
Charlie Sheen reportedly set the actress up with Bloch after she tued down his offer to pay for half of the gown.
The actors struck up a friendship while working on forthcoming comedy Scary Movie 5.
Financial woes have wracked Lohan for several months and Sheen confirmed he came to the rescue, covering $100,000 over her $233,904 tax debt.
Most recently, the Mean Girls actress reportedly moved into a friend's apartment in Manhattan after she was 'mortified' by rumours she had been staying at her mother's Long Island, New York home to save money, according to RadarOnline.
The New York Post subsequently reported the home is in foreclosure.
Chase Bank, who provided the mortgage for the property, served Dina Lohan court papers intending to foreclose the home earlier this month, according to the newspaper.
