An Atlanta rapper Lil Uzi Vert has been arrested after police say he and another man raced through the streets of Atlanta on uninsured dirt bikes.

Police say Lil Uzi Vert, 22, whose real name is Symere Woods, and another man identified as Ivison Smith were observed by officers entering a Texaco gas station and began to accelerate toward people who were walking in the lot on Thursday night.

”I could hear the engines revving up as they were in the lot, the officer wrote in the report. ”They then exited the gas station at a high rate of speed and began to travel southbound on Northside Drive.

After they headed the wrong way into traffic and forced cars to move out of their way, they drove across five lanes of traffic without using tu signals, police said.

A police report says officers eventually caught up with them at a red light. Police say both men ditched the bikes and ran once they saw police. Police caught up with the pair and arrested them.

Both were charged with operating a motorcycle without insurance, obstruction, registration required, wrong way on one way, tu signals required, head lights required, helmets required, reckless driving, brake lights required, tail lights required, operating dirt bike on city street and failure to maintain lane.

In addition, Woods was charged with license to be carried on person and Smith was charged with driving with a suspended license.

He gained recognition after releasing his debut single, ”Money Longer and several mix tapes, including Luv is Rage, Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World and The Perfect Luv Tape. He is also featured on the hit song with Future ”Too Much Sauce.

Police said Woods ”had a large sum of money in his possession at the time, which was not taken from him.

Woods was released from jail Friday on a $6,500 bond, according to records.

Woods' publicist didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
