Are Hanksy and Banksy artists or vandals?

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but imitation plus vandalism plus a well-placed "Forrest Gump" reference is...Hanksy.

The still-unknown New York street artist has spent the past several months pasting the LES with mashups of Tom Hanks movies and some of Banksy's most familiar stencils.

Hanksy has paid homage to everything from "Apollo 13" to Wilson the Volleyball, all because he wants to "dress up the walls" of the Lower East Side. Until January 31, some of his work can be seen indoors at New York's Krause Gallery, which also marks the first time that "The Money Pit" has been considered high art.
