Legendary Papa John's car stolen from Detroit auto show
A car that helped create a pizza empire has been stolen.
John Schnatter sold the gold and black Camaro in 1983 to help save his dad's bar and start his own business, a company that grew into Papa John's. Schnatter bought it back in 2009, WDIV reported.
The 1972 Camaro Z28, which is now officially owned by the pizza company, was stolen from the Woodward Dream Cruise car show in Detroit over the weekend, The Associated Press reported.
Two other vehicles were also stolen, WXYZ reported.
A company spokesman said Schnatter is "distraught" over the car's theft.
The car was stored inside a trailer and parked in a lot, WDIV reported.
The trailer and the car, which is valued at $250,000 are still missing.
Surveillance video captured the theft.
