Kevin Durant, what are those?
Kevin Durant knee-high Nike KD elite shoes; NBA Oklahoma City Thunder v Utah Jazz:

OKLAHOMA City Thunder small forward Kevin Durant was awarded the NBA's MVP award in 2014, has appeared in seven NBA All-Star games, and even won a gold medal at the Olympics while representing the USA.

However, one thing he won't be winning in a hurry is an award for the league's best dressed.

Ahead of the Thunder's game against the Utah Jazz on Friday, Durant showed up on the court sporting a pair of his new signature Nike KD8 Elite sneakers.

The shoes are designed with a small built in 'calf-length compression sock' to add more stability to the foot and ankle. But the pair Durant wore during the warm up took the term 'calf-length' to a whole new level.

Rocking the bright orange kicks, Durant's shoe extended almost the full way up his leg to his knee — that's right, the orange sock is part of the shoe.

Seriously Kevin, what are those?

The 2008 NBA Rookie of the Year's debut shoe wasn't as well-received on Twitter as he might have hoped.

Thankfully, Durant made the switch to a slightly more conservative pair of KD8 Elites for the game, opting for a lower-cut blue pair.
