Jeep Runs Off Ramp Into Tree, Driver Killed

MARIETTA, Ga. - A driver was killed early Thursday when a car ran off an interstate ramp and into a tree, Marietta police said.

Officers told GA Daily News a Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling north from the Canton Connector to Interstate 75 left the road, struck a tree and rolled over, throwing the driver out of the vehicle.

Police said it appeared the driver was speeding at the time of the crash. There were no passengers in the Jeep, and investigators don’t believe a second car was involved.

Marietta police had not released the name of the driver. Investigators urged anyone who saw the crash to call 770-794-5356.
