Indian authorities say they are looking for a man who allegedly raped a new mom as she lay in intensive care just hours after a traumatic C-section birth .

The shocking attack is said to have taken place as the first time mother was kept in hospital oveight for observations.

CCTV footage shows the suspected rapist creep through the Brahm Shakti Sanjeevani Hospital, on the outskirts of New Delhi, India, in the early hours of the moing.

He is said to have told the guard he was a doctor and entered the ward around 3:30 am.

The footage shows him in the intensive care unit, lifting screens and checking out patients.

Hunt: The alleged attacker was caught on CCTV

He allegedly assaulted the victim while other patients were asleep, reports India.com .

Police are now searching for the suspected attacker.

The relatives of the victims have accused the hospital authority of negligence and claim no staff were in the ICU when the incident took place.
