Horror in South Africa as up to 18 are feared dead after police open fire on striking miners
Heavily armed police moved in on striking workers - themselves armed with rocks and machetes - and used live ammunition after firing tear gas. Footage shot at the scene shows a volley of intense gunfire from among the police ranks, with dozens of shots reportedly fired.
