HILLARY Duff and Mike Comrie have split after three years of marriage.

The 26-year-old actress’ rep confirmed to US Weekly that she had separated from her former NHL player husband, in what was apparently a friendly break-up.

"Hilary Duff and husband Mike Comrie have mutually decided to an amicable separation," the rep said. "They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other's lives."

The couple, which wed in August 2010, are parents to a 21-month-old son, Luca.

"They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time," Duff’s rep added.

Duff took to Twitter on Friday to thank fans for their support.

"Mike and I are sitting here, we are so appreciative for all of your kindness and well wishes," she wrote. "Not an easy day but we're getting thru it together."
