Have Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon split?
SAY it ain’t so. Is one of the entertainment industry’s most publicly loved-up couples no more?
There are unconfirmed reports this week that Mariah Carey and her husband of six years, comedian and presenter Nick Cannon, have separated.
Rumours of trouble between the pair have been circulating for months, and now The Hollywood Gossip reports that Cannon has moved in with his grandparents in preparation for a formal separation announcement that may come as early as this week.
“While the cause of the split is unknown, sources close to the couple claim that there was no infidelity involved and both parties mutually agreed to a trial separation,” says The Hollywood Gossip.
While Mariah has in years past used her Instagram account to post intimate snaps of she and Cannon together, in recent months she’s instead focused on the couple’s children, three-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan. In fact, Carey hasn’t shared a pic of herself and Cannon since this Father’s Day snap back in June:

While the couple usually appear smitten with each other, cracks have appeared this year: Carey has spoken about her distaste at being discussed in Cannon’s comedy routines, using an interview to advise her husband to ‘stay quiet and show class’. Seems he didn’t heed the message — just a few months ago, he publicly bragged that he’d once slept with Kim Kardashian.
It’s the second marriage for Carey, who has this week announced a world tour for later in the year to support her ludicrously-titled new album, Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse.
