HALL COUNTY, Ga. - The Hall County Sheriff's Office said a missing Hall County woman was found dead early Sunday moing.

Police say the body of Wanda Kay McDougald, 41, was found alongside Highway 60 in Lumpkin County. Both she and John Whitfield, 51, were reported missing from Hall County last Wednesday.

Deputies said Whitfield and McDougald had previously been in a relationship.

Whitfield was found at a residence in northe Hall County on Saturday and charged with aggravated assault and murder. 

The GBI is now in charge of the investigation.
