Two broadcast joualists have been shot dead live on air.
WDBJ7’s Alison Parker and Adam Ward were killed at the Bridgewater Plaza near Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia on Wednesday moing.
It took place while they were shooting a live segment at around 6.45am.

Video footage shows the moment a gunman opened fire – which sends the crew screaming and ducking for cover.
The camera is dropped and broadcast taken back to the studio where the presenter looks stunned.
The shooter is still at large.
Bedford County Public Schools have been put on lock-down until further notice.
The 41-year-old suspected shooter has been identified as Vester Lee Flanagan II, was believed to be a disgruntled former employee of the TV station, say police.
He shot himself after a police pursuit.
