Goodyear reinvents the wheel with spherical tire

Apparently the folks at Goodyear aren't conceed about the old saying 'don't try to reinvent the wheel.”

The tire manufacturing company has designed a spherical tire they're calling the 'Eagle-360.”

The Eagle-360s would apparently magnetically levitate a vehicle above them as opposed to mechanically connecting, at least according to Goodyear.

The tires would function with embedded sensors, constantly monitoring the condition of both the tires and the road surface, Goodyear says.

With the ability to roll laterally, they'd also make parking a breeze it would seem.

Currently, the tires are just a concept and likely won't be available anytime soon. Still, they provide an interesting look at what the future could hold.
