Five people, including teenage girl, gunned down in Russia hunting shop shooting

The gunman walked into the store in Belgorod – a city 40km (25 miles) north of the Ukranian border – and opened fire.

He killed three members of staff before tuing the gun on two people in the street.

One other person was hurt in the attack, according to reports.

The shooter then drove away in a BMW.

The vehicle was later found abandoned in the south-west Russia city.

Police have surrounded a car fair, where they believe the gunman could be hiding, police sources said.

The Moscow-based Investigative Committee said in a statement it had identified the suspect, claiming the gunman was a resident of Belgorod and had been released from prison in 2012.

Amateur footage online showed corpses in the street covered with light blue plastic body bags and a crowd of onlookers gathered near a school.

‘Currently, an active search is going on to detain the suspect," a police spokesman said.
