THE global slowdown may have hit Ireland hard, but some of its residents are positively swimming in money.
A punter at Galway races was caught on camera wiping rain from his face - with a 50 euro note ($74).
In the footage from RTE's broadcast the unidentified man takes the cash from his pocket to deal with the liquidity problem on his face, carefully moping his brow and cheeks.
As Irish website entertainment.ie put it, "we hate to think of what they do with their fivers” in Galway.
