Female Driver Priscilla Johnson Charged After Hitting 3 Teens with Car
CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - A female driver accused of killing two teenagers is facing a long list of charges on Friday.
Police say 48-year-old Priscilla Johnson was driving while under the influence and on the cell phone when she swerved into the emergency lane and struck three teens walking along Highway 138 Thursday afteoon.
According to police, the teens were struck from behind and dragged nearly 500 feet.
Two of the teens were airlifted to Grady hospital where one later died. Another teen was pronounced dead at the scene. The surviving teen was last reported to be in critical condition.
FOX 5's Doug Evans, who reported from the scene on Thursday, says clothes, shoes and evidence markers were scattered on the highway under the overpass and in the grass. Further away, there was a red car in the ditch.
Police say the three teens ranged in age from 17 to 19. The names of the victims have not been released.
Other charges Johnson faces are two counts of homicide by motor vehicle, hit and run, no proof of insurance, a red light violation, driving with a suspended license, and obstruction of a police officer. She is being held in the Clayton County Jail without bond.
Police say Johnson was arrested Thursday night.
