Father Jacques Butler Charged in Baby's Death
Jacques Butler

AUGUSTA, Ga.  - An Augusta man is facing charges that he caused his 2-month old daughter's death by shaking her.

A judge on Friday denied bond to 21-year-old Jacques Butler, who was charged with murder and cruelty to children in the death of Zion Harris.

Prosecutors say he held Harris by her hips above his head in January and shook her up and down repeatedly to stop her from crying. They say he then threw the baby to her mother.

The baby was taken to the Medical College of Georgia Hospital to treat injuries that caused bleeding in her brain and cranial pressure. She died two days later.
