Ex-Cop Kenneth Reda Sentenced To 4 Years In Drowning Death
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - A former Cobb County SWAT officer was sentenced to four years in prison on Thursday for lying about a boating accident on Lake Allattoona last spring that left his friend and fellow SWAT Officer Brent Stephens dead.
The judge also gave Kenneth Reda 11 years of probation. GA Daily News reporter Ross Cavitt was at the courthouse during the sentencing hearing.
Reda pleaded guilty earlier this month to second-degree homicide by vessel, among other charges.
Prosecutors said he lied and covered up events of the April 2010 boating accident.
