A drunk tractor driver killed three people after crashing into their car head-on.

Jacob Gavrilov, 43, caused the fatal accident when he swerved his large vehicle to the opposite side of the road in Irkutsk Oblast in Russia, according to police.

Joseph Zhdanov, 32, his wife Maria, 28, and a friend all died after being decapitated when their car was pushed undeeath the tractor.

Police spokesman Andrew Ankudinov said: ‘The tractor"s scoop hit the car and shaved off the top killing those inside instantly.

‘They didn"t have a chance. But they didn"t even see the tractor coming as it was dark and it didn"t have any lights on."

Gavrilov reportedly ran off after the collision but was caught when police traced his footprints in the snow.

Authorities said he was more than five times over the legal limit.
