A Colombian thief who forgot to look both ways ran straight in front of a bus after mugging a woman of her mobile phone.

The hapless robber grappled with the woman at the stop in Bogota as other travellers looked on.

But as he tried to make a run for it he was battered by a bus coming into the stop.

Onlookers tued away in horror as he was thrown into the air before falling between the vehicle and the glass doors of an exit at the station.

His victim took back her phone, and the man was helped from under the bus. He was treated in hospital for minor injuries.

Police said the mugger had a history of theft. He was prosecuted after leaving hospital.

The mugging took place earlier this month, though the video was programmed with the wrong date.
