Diner owner under Facebook fire for yelling at screaming child
A Maine diner owner is coming under fire after telling a screaming child to be quiet.
But Darla Neugebauer, of Marcy's Diner, isn't backing down from what she did, WCSH reported.
It all started Saturday, when Neugebauer said the child's parents ordered food for the girl, but didn't feed it to her. The child then started crying loudly, disturbing the other diners.
Neugebauer said she tried to get the family to leave or to take the girl outside, she said she slammed her hands on the counter and told the girl to be quiet, WCSH reported.
Not sorry: Darla Neugebauer, owner of Marcy's Diner in Portland, Maine, has refused to apologize for yelling a toddler who cried for 40 minutes straight in her restaurant recently

Tara Carson (right) and her husband John brought their 2-year-old daughter to eat with them at Marcy's, and she says she was shocked and stunned when the owner yelled at her toddler daughter
The child's mother posted on the restaurant's Facebook page.
Despite the controversy, Neugebauer told WCSH , "Life's full of choices and you've got to live with all of them. I chose to yell at the kid. It made her shut-up, which made me happy. It made my staff happy. It made the 75 other people dining here happy, and they left. They may never come back, other people may not come in. Their loss really."
The family told WCSH that the incident left the family stunned and upset.

Tara Carson said she told her daughter, "This is how I'm raising you not to be as an adult."
She continued, saying, "I felt helpless as a mom that, you know, I couldn't do anything to help her, because I can't explain why there's crazy people in the world that behave like that."
