Authorities arrested an interim fire chief for the city of Morrow after he was accused of raping an unconscious woman.

Herbert Jones is facing felony rape in connection with the alleged March 29 incident and has been placed on paid administrative leave.

Jones told authorities he does not remember anything after a night of heavy drinking.  A man and woman in the apartment at the time of incident said they woke up and found Jones assaulting their friend, who apparently had too much to drink and was unconscious, police said.

DeKalb County court records show Jones was booked at the DeKalb County Jail on March 29 for what appears to be one count of rape. He was later released from custody on April 16 on $25,000 bond.
