Country singer Jason Aldean apologises for kissing American Idol castoff Brittany Kerr
Country star Jason Aldean has apologised after he was pictured in a clinch with a former American Idol contestant.
Aldean, who is married with two daughters, released a statement after TMZ posted pictures of the singer hugging and kissing Brittany Kerr over the weekend.
'The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar,' he says.
'I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself,' and then he adds: 'I left alone and that's the end of the story.'
Aldean and Kerr were caught acting cosy last Wednesday night in the patio area of The Den, a popular hangout for locals and tourists along L.A.'s Sunset Boulevard.
Jason Aldean is married with two children.
The photographer snapped the couple leaning into one another, hugging, touching and kissing.
Aldean, 35, was wearing a checkered shirt, silver hoops in his ears and bracelets, but must have left his trademark cowboy hat at home.
Brittany wore a clingy white top and wore her hair half up, half down.
The blonde Brittany, 24, is a cheerleader-dancer whose first time singing in front of people was at her American Idol audition.
Aldean, who performed in Southe Califoia over the weekend, has been married to his high school sweetheart, Jessica Ussery, since August 2001.
He has previously credited her for providing stability in his life.
The couple have two daughters, Keeley, 9, and Kendyl, 4.
Family man: Jason has credited his wife, Jessica, for keeping life stable. Here they are at the American Country Awards on last December in Las Vegas
