CLINT Eastwood has reportedly separated from his wife of 17 years.

The 83-year-old actor and 48-year-old joualist Dina Eastwood married in March 1996 but Dina is said to have confirmed to Us Weekly the pair have called it quits.

Clint's manager was contacted about the report but told Us: "I know nothing about that."

According to the tabloid, the estranged couple quietly split in June 2012 but have "remained close".

"Clint fell out of love with Dina a long time ago," a source said.

Reports surfaced the couple was on the rocks back in April after Clint was spotted without his wedding ring while attending the Coachella Music Festival in Califoia.

Dina was apparently suffering from anxiety and depression and was being treated at an exclusive facility in Arizona at the time.

A source told Radar Online Clint's work had driven a wedge between them and the couple were headed for divorce.

"There is no third party that caused the end of the relationship. Dina and Clint have simply drifted apart," a purported insider told the outlet.

"She wanted him to slow down and not spend as much time working, and that just isn't an option for Clint. He loves acting and directing."

Clint was also reportedly upset about Dina's decision to do a reality show, Mrs. Eastwood & Company.

"Clint is very private, and didn't want his family life on display for America to see," the source said.

Clint and Dina share a 17-year-old daughter, Morgan.

He also has seven other children from previous relationships.
