Clayton County Police Officer Clinton Nicholas Hit by Truck
CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - A Clayton County police officer was life-flighted to an area hospital after being hit by a truck.
Clayton County police officer Tina Daniels said Sergeant Clinton Nicholas was on the side of the road at Interstate 675 and Anvilblock Road working a construction detail when the truck slammed into him shortly after noon Thursday.
Daniels says Sgt. Nicholas was initially unconscious but crews were able to revive him. The officer was taken to Grady Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
It is not known what caused the truck to slam into the officer's vehicle. The driver of the truck, Nicholas Veasley was arrested.
The accident is under investigation.
