You might jokingly refer to yourself as being addicted to Candy Crush, but wake up kid, because it may be no joke. Around 45 million play Candy Crush on Facebook every month or mainline it with smartphones, bringing in an estimated $633,000 a day and $230 million a year for British game company King, which is lording over us like the cruelest of Candyland overlords. Like any pusher, the game gets you hooked, and then starts offering more lives and more moves for 99 cents (and eventually $1.99). King says 70 percent of players can finish without paying extra dough, but for the other 30 percent, the sweet taste of victory may require sacrificing some real lettuce. [Source]
