Brilliant cops attempt daring 'rescue' of stuffed dog
Is the driver at all responsible?

A Nottinghamshire man retued to his parked Mercedes to discover shards of shattered glass and a missing driver's side window, courtesy of the cops who wanted to rescue the dog sleeping in the back of the car.

Unfortunately for both owner Gordon Williams and the police department's street cred, the dog was a stuffed animal, and not even a super-realistic one.

The officers will pay to replace Williams' window (\"I guess they felt like idiots,\" Williams told The Sun) but they've put other drivers on notice to \"think about what they leave on view.\"

We're looking forward to their recon report about saving a tiny Hawaiian woman from her dashboard priso -- DAMMIT, NOT AGAIN.

Is the driver at all responsible?
