A Bollywood actress was slapped over the length of her dress, according to reports.

Actress and model Gauhar Khan was attacked by a 24-year-old man in the audience during filming in Mumbai, say the BBC.

Police quoted the man as saying that Khan ‘being a Muslim woman, she should not have wo such a short dress". He was arrested and will appear in court on Monday.

The incident occured while the final episode of reality TV show India"s Raw Star was being filmed on Sunday.

A police official was quoted in The Hindustan Times as saying that ‘someone from the audience started teasing Khan to which she protested.

‘An argument ensued between Gauhar and the man who was teasing her. Things tued ugly when the man suddenly slapped the actor."

After the attack security at the venue are said to have apprehended the man and handed him to police.

Khan won Big Boss, India"s answer to Big Brother in 2013 and has appeared in various Bollywood movies including Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year; Once Upon a Time in Mumbai and Bo To Hate…Destined To Love.
