Body of missing Georgia man found in NC

The body of a missing Georgia man has been found in the French Broad River in North Carolina.

The Hendersonville Times-News reports (http://bit.ly/14Zzk9l ) Andrew Sprinkle's body was found under a tree in the river Friday afteoon. Crews had been searching for Sprinkle since his truck was found wrecked, abandoned and partially submerged in the frigid water Nov. 15 along U.S. Highway 276.

The 31-year-old Alpharetta, Georgia, resident had been staying at his family's second home in Connestee Falls.

A passerby noticed the wreckage and called 911.

Transylvania County Sheriff's Capt. Kevin Creasman says Sprinkle was found about half of a mile downstream of the wreck.

Sprinkle's mother reported her son missing Monday after he didn't show up for work in Atlanta.
