BEN Affleck has visited Lindsay Lohan in rehab.

The 'Argo' filmmaker surprised the 27-year-old actress by dropping in on her during her 90-day court-ordered stint at Cliffside treatment facility in Malibu, reportedly in order to offer her a part in his new movie 'Live by Night'.

A former patient told RadarOnline.com: "Ben came to visit Lindsay while she was at Cliffside to talk about the possibility of a role in his movie.

"Lindsay was excited about the opportunity, telling me that she was going to have dark hair in the film and would have an Irish accent."

The Hollywood superstar's shock visit came just a few days before Lindsay's birthday on July 2. He arrived with an assistant and chatted to 'The Canyons' star for about an hour, during which time Ben reportedly discussed going to rehab for alcohol abuse in 2001.

The source added: "A former substance abuser himself, Lindsay said he was there to check on her and see how she was doing.

"She tried to tell me he was being flirty with her, but that's just Lindsay's way of embellishing because she constantly needs attention."

Despite their meeting, a movie insider recently insisted Lindsay "isn't being considered and won't be in" 'Live by Night'.

The redhead left rehab on July 30 and celebrated by partying the night away with boy band The Wanted in Los Angeles.
