Belgium releases terror suspect known as Faycal C for lack of evidence

Since Mr. Cheffou"s arrest, prosecutors have been trying to use DNA to confirm his presence. Those tests didn"t confirm his involvement, officials said.

Prosecutors said the investigative indications that had led to Mr. Cheffou"s arrest weren"t confirmed.

Earlier, Belgian police released CCTV footage in an attempt to identify the third attacker at Brussels airport, whose bomb did not explode and who fled the scene.

The footage shows the man wearing a hat and white jacket pushing a trolley with a large bag through the departure hall, next to suicide bombers Ibrahim El Bakraoui and Najim Laachraoui.

The website of Belgium"s Federal Police on Monday began carrying a 32-second video of a mysterious man in a hat suspected of having taking part in the March 22 bombing of Brussels Airport.

"The police are seeking to identify this man,” Belgium Federal Police site says. The implication is that the suspected accomplice of the two airport suicide bombers could still be at large.

Meanwhile, the Belgian Crisis Centre said it had revised the death toll up to 35 after four people died of their injuries in hospital.

Latest arrests

Belgian prosecutors say three more people have been arrested on charges of participating in terrorist group activities They were among four people detained during Sunday searches in Brussels and the northe cities of Mechelen and Duffel.

Since the March 22 terror attacks, Belgium has charged seven people with terrorism.
