Artist hides blank $12,598 check in gallery to lure visitors

If you're in the vicinity of the Milton Keynes Gallery in England, feel free to poke around for a blank check for 8,000 pounds ($12,598) that artist Tomas Georgeson has hidden there. Georgeson said he hid the check in the gallery to \"get people through the door and change the mood of the place.\" The gallery said they were unaware of the check and as yet, it has not been found.

Georgeson placed an advert in the local paper to spread the word and said that while the check is pretty much all the cash he has, \"it won't bounce.\"

Was this a wise plan to increase visitors to the gallery?
