Arrest made in shooting death of cab driver Nana Pramantow
DeKalb County police arrested two 16-year-olds in relation to the shooting death of local taxi driver.
The victim, Nana Pramantow, was killed early Tuesday moing while still in his cab in front of his home on Aquamist Drive in Decatur.
Investigators believe robbery was the motive.
Neighbor Whitney Outlaw heard the gunfire, then ran to an upstairs bedroom to peek out of a window.
"That's when I saw the two boys and they were parked like right there," Outlaw told Channel 2's Sophia Choi.
Outlaw then called 911 for help.
"I was like, 'Oh my God, oh my God! We got a shootout next door,'" recalled Outlaw.
Then she saw something confusing. "The taxi was sliding down the driveway. I thought that, I didn't know what was going on," Outlaw said.
By the time police arrived around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, the cab was in the roadway with Pramantow dead in the driver's seat.
Police said the two teens responsible will also face charges related to other robberies in the area.
