America’s Next Top Model contestant Mirjana Puhar killed in triple murder

CASH was scattered around the room where America’s Next Top Model contestant Mirjana Puhar was found dead with her boyfriend in an apparent triple murder.

The model, 19, her boyfriend Jonathan Alvarado, 23 and another man, Jusmar Gonzaga-Garcia, 21, were found in Alvarado’s home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police discovered the three bodies in the apartment on Tuesday.

TMZ is reporting that a friend who discovered two of bodies also saw cash “scattered around the house”.

A source told TMZ a friend of the couple went to the house after getting a call that gunshots were heard and discovered the grim scene.

A 19-year-old man, Emmanuel Jesus Rangel, was arrested over the killings on Wednesday and charged with three counts of murder, according to Fox affiliate WCCB-TV and TMZ.

Police said the deadly confrontation may have been drug-related and are reportedly investigating whether the deaths are connected to another murder on Sunday, New York Daily News reports.

Model Puhar was on the 21st season of America’s Top Model which aired in the US last year and was described as “plucky and perky” in her bio for the show.

Puhar, who started modelling when she was 12 and lived in New York before moving to Charlotte, was eliminated on the 10th episode, New York Daily News reports.

The paper said Puhar described herself as a “wild child” and “had fun, partied” while she was growing up.

The series is currently screening in Australia on Foxtel.
