Abercrombie & Fitch takes on fake website selling racist 'n***er brown' trousers in its name
A fake website trading under the name and logo of Abercrombie & Fitch has been slammed for selling pairs of 'n***er brown' trousers.
The 'racist' garments sparked outrage when they went on sale for £42.99 this week on the abercrombie-and-fitchoutlet store.
Much of the anger was mistakenly targeted at the U.S. clothing label - which has nothing to do with the bogus site that bosses have vowed to shut down.
A spokesman told TMZ: 'We do not condone racist language. This is a counterfeit website and we have initiated legal proceedings to shut it down.'
The fake site, which this moing appeared to have already been taken offline, is reportedly registered in China.
And observers said the racist name given to the clothes could be put down to bad Chinese to English translation software.
Although the faux store is evidently nothing to do with the firm, commentators said the incident could still have a negative effect on its image.
