The 20-year-old suffered a "makeup" malfunction as she arrived at the Maxim Hot 100 party to celebrate her status as the mag's "hottest woman".
A thick layer of white powder around her chin took attention away from her stunning outfit and threatened to overshadow her red carpet appearance.
The loose face powder, which is normally used to minimise shine, had the opposite effect of drawing attention to her chin, rather than taking it away.
Despite the heavy handed application, Cyrus looked stunning in a black Valentino jumpsuit and metallic Saint Laurent platform heels.
