Could it be time to unlike Facebook?

The world's largest social network is apparently just not cool anymore, with teenagers now spending more of their time on Instagram, WhatsApp and Snapchat.

A new study claims Facebook is ‘dead and buried' amongst 16-18 year olds who are ‘embarrassed' to be associated with it.

Here are six reasons why it could be time to join the Facebook exodus.

1. You're friends with your mum

Nosy parents are slowly invading Facebook and it's only a matter of time before they take over completely.

Embarrassing comments on your timeline and inappropriate jokes with your friends are potential hazards should you accept a parental friend request.

2. Your'e a Facebook stalker

It's slightly worrying that after typing ‘Facebook stalking' into Google the search engine immediately suggests ‘tips'.

Leaving Facebook prevents you from being stalked, while also saves hours wasted looking at how much fun everyone else is having.

3. You have awkward real-life conversations with online ‘friends'

Ever had that awkward moment when you bump into a Facebook ‘friend' you've only ever said about three words to? And how did you become ‘online friends' anyway?

Bumping into someone you have recently deleted could be even worse.

4. Your jealous of your ex-girlfriend / boyfriend

An ex-partner unexpectedly popping up on your Facebook feed with a new, better looking partner could be annoying. Time to switch to Snapchat?

5. You get tagged in embarrassing baby photos

Avoid parents gleefully tagging you in embarrassing baby photos by jumping the Facebook ship now.

6. You're a Facebook addict

If you're someone who spends every spare minute of your day refreshing your news feed then you may just be a Facebook addict.

Why not get addicted to Instagram/WhatsApp/Snapchat/Twitter instead?
