3 Doors Down bassist Todd Harrell charged with vehicular homicide after colliding with truck in fatal crash

3 Doors Down bassist Todd Harrell was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide Friday night in Nashville, Tennessee.

The rocker allegedly struck a Ford pickup truck, which then careened into a guardrail before tumbling down an embankment.

Doctors pronounced the truck's driver dead after he was transported to a nearby medical facility, according to TMZ.

Meanwhile, Harrell escaped relatively unscathed with only minor injuries.

Police revealed that the troubled musician appeared intoxicated during routine field sobriety tests.

During questioning he reportedly confessed to consuming hard cider and self-medicating with pain pill Lortab and anxiety reliever Xanax.

Later, authorities uncovered additional Xanax, Oxycodone and Oxymorphone pills hidden in one of his socks, according to the website.

Harrell remains in jail with a bond of $100,000 and faces charges of vehicular homicide and bringing controlled substances into a jail.

In 2012 the Kryptonite hitmaker encountered a similar situation after slamming into a vehicle while intoxicated in D'Iberville, Mississippo.

Harrell's victim survived, and he was released on $1,000 bond.

On Saturday moing 3 Doors Down released a series of dates for their upcoming North American tour with Daughtry.

The two groups will depart in July and travel through the beginning of August.

3 Doors Down, which skyrocketed to fame in 2000 following the release of The Better Life, debuted their Greatest Hits collection in November.
