Police in Cobb County say two people were found dead in a home on the 6200 block of Sawtooth Oak Ct. off of Mayfield Way in Smya after a roughly 12-hour standoff.

Smya Police spokesman Chris Graeff says officers responded to a call about an armed person inside a house early Sunday moing and became involved in a standoff that included a SWAT team.

Graeff says the SWAT team gained entry to the home Sunday afteoon and found a man and woman dead. Graeff says investigators also found an infant inside who didn't appear to be injured, but was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

Details on the child's age and the relationship between the man and woman weren't immediately available.
