Netflix 'Streamageddon': Nearly 2,000 movies to disappear from movie streaming service on May 1

For Netflix customers, May 1 is being called \"Streamageddon\" when nearly 2,000 movie titles will begin disappearing from the service.

The reason for the purge of movies has to do with licensing. The titles belong to Waer Bros., MGM and Universal and will soon only be available through the Waer Archive Instant service, according to Mashable .

The majority of movies that have expired are classics, not new releases.
